Monday, February 22​
We did a fantastic job last Saturday.  In our second race on the King Course, all 19 athletes that ran the course for a second time improved from two weeks ago!

And now our fourth race is here!  We will be racing at Roosevelt High School on Saturday as the first race of the day. 
Only one parent/guardian is allowed entry per athlete. 

PLEASE ARRIVE AT ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL AT 7:05AM. Our team will enter together and proceed to the team staging area, spectators will go to the stadium bleachers.  Everyone will be required to wear a mask.  All of the protocols are below.  ATHLETES MUST BRING THEIR OWN WATER!!! BRING A LOT!!!  It will be cool again this weekend so make sure you bring a sweats.  The girls will be racing first again this week.

Here are the protocols:

Race Protocol
  • All current CDPH and County of Riverside Guidelines will be followed by all in attendance
  • Each Race will be maxed at 45 participants
  • Everyone in attendance  will be symptomed screened prior to entering the facility (This includes all runners, AD’s, Parents/Guardians etc).  Anyone exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms will not be permitted to access the campus.
  • Everyone in attendance will have their temperature checked, no one will be allowed to attend with a temperature of 100.4 or higher (This includes all runners, AD’s, Parents/Guardians etc.) .  Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed to compete
  • One (1)  Parent/Guardian per participant will be allowed to attend the event.  Parents or Guardians will be seated in the stadium to meet social distance guidelines
  • General spectators will NOT be permitted on campus during the entirety of the event
  • All runners must wear a mask at all times as tolerated.  This includes when running the race, to tolerance.  At the starting line, every runner will be wearing a mask.  They can drop their mask down when they can no longer tolerate it anymore.  The mask will remain on the runner’s person throughout the entirety of the race
  • The starting line will be wide enough to accommodate as many as 45 participants & the finish line will be enlarged to accommodate socially distanced runners
  • The entire course will be wider than 6 feet at all times
  • Once the race is finished, the participants are quickly led off of the course and teams directed to leave campus as soon as possible after the match.  
  • Every non-runner at the event must be wearing a mask at all times
  • Hand sanitizer stations and restrooms will be available throughout the site
  • Each athlete will be required to bring their own water
  • AD’s & Athletic Trainers from each of the 6 schools will also be present at each event to ensure approved CDPH & County of Riverside Protocols are followed

Make sure you are coming to practice daily. Remember, championships are won in the summer. YOU have to put the work in!

Running shoes
Running clothes (comfortable clothing for physical activity)
Plenty of water
Wristwatch...GPS if possible
A Positive attitude
A Good work ethic

Sweats/Warm-ups
Training shoes
Racing Flats
Extra water and Gatorade

Please make sure you are drinking plenty of water!! Make sure to keep hydrated throughout the day...everyday.

Here is some important information for the season.

1. Bring water to practice everyday!!

2. Keep hydrated throughout the day…drink lots of water! You should drink as many ounces of water that equals half your body weight. (If you weigh 100lbs then you should drink 50oz of water a day)

3. Bring proper running shoes to practice everyday. You should not be running in anything except shoes made specifically for running. Specialty running stores in the area include Snails Pace in Brea, and Fleet Feet in Rancho Cucamonga.

4. It would be a good idea to get a wrist watch to keep track of the amount of time you have been running. It doesn't have to be too fancy.

5. Work ethic is very important. The summer program builds the base for your entire season. Everyday that you don’t run, you lose the fitness level you built up. It is vital to practice everyday. Make the commitment!
